Simone Demelas has a diverse work experience in the startup and entrepreneurship field. Starting in 2014, they became a Leader Organizer for Techstars startup weekend in Rome, managing several events and mentors. In 2015, they became a Workshop Facilitator and later a Global Facilitator for startupweekend and Community Leader at Techstars, coordinating events and teams around the world. In 2018, they joined Dock3 - The Startup Lab as a Mentor. In 2020, they became a Strategic Advisor at BizPlace Holding, and in 2021, they served as a Board Member at Roma Startup and a Director at FoundersBoost (formerly Startup Boost), where their role focused on supporting entrepreneurs and local ecosystems. Simone also worked as a Venture Building Consultant for an undisclosed company. Most recently, in 2022, they co-founded Jetlag and joined Opinno Italy as the PM of the entrepreneurship program RBS.
Simone Demelas obtained a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems and Satellite Remote Sensing from Università degli studi Roma TRE in the academic year 2012-2013. Prior to that, they completed their Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Matematiche Fisiche e Naturali at Università degli Studi di Sassari between the years 1997 and 2006. In 2010, Simone also pursued a Corso di Specializzazione di 2° livello-CS2 in Scienze marine at Washington State University, which lasted for one year. Additionally, Simone holds several certifications, including Design Sprint Masterclass by AJ&Smart (obtained in September 2019), Venture Deals by the Kauffman Fellows Academy & TechStars - Spring 2018 (obtained in May 2018), and Friday Harbor Labs from Washington State University (obtained in June 2011). There are also certifications for Open Water Diver and TOEFL, but the specific months and years of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
