An accomplished surgeon, biomedical scientist and serial biomedicine and aerospace entrepreneur, Dr. Hariri pioneered the use of stem cells to treat a range of life-threatening human diseases. He was the 2018 recipient of the Pontifical Medal for Innovation (awarded by Pope Francis) and has received the Thomas Alva Edison Award for technological innovation twice (2007 and 2011). When he’s not in the lab, you’ll find him in the skies: he’s a jet-rated commercial pilot with thousands of hours of flight time across 60+ military and civilian aircrafts.
