Katharine Ayala has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Katharine started their career at Southwest Healthcare in 1989, where they held the role of Clinical Supervisor for almost three decades until 2018. In 2018, they joined Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, first as a Nursing Manager and later became the Director of Maternal Child Health in October 2021.

Katharine Ayala holds a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Mount Saint Mary's University, which they obtained between 1981 and 1985. Katharine further pursued their education at Grand Canyon University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Nursing Leadership from 2020 to 2021.
