Nilesh Modi has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over multiple companies and research positions. Nilesh is currently the Founder & CEO of Fractal31 since October 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President (Technology & Innovation) at Cygnet Infotech Pvt. Ltd. from August 2016 to February 2020, where they were responsible for overseeing emerging and traditional technologies, products, and strategic projects.

Before joining Cygnet Infotech, Nilesh worked as an R&D Software Engineer in the Computational Lithography Group at Intel Corporation from March 2011 to May 2014. Nilesh also served as a Research Assistant at the VLSI Design and Test Group, University of California-Santa Barbara, where their work focused on developing metrics for routing parameters, power optimization techniques, and proposing algorithms for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Nilesh's research experience includes roles as a Research Intern at IBM T J Watson Research Center, where they worked on logic synthesis techniques for ECOs, and as a Summer Intern at IBM Microelectronics Division and Cadence Design Systems, where they developed efficient techniques for post-placement optimization and technology mapping.

Furthermore, Nilesh worked as a Summer Intern at IBM Microelectronics, where they enhanced existing technology mapping algorithms, and as a Research Assistant in the Algorithms and Genetics Group at UPC, where they conducted bioinformatics research. Nilesh also served as a Research Assistant in the GAVINA Research Group at UPC, Barcelona, focusing on Boolean decomposition techniques.

Dr. Nilesh Modi has a Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, which they obtained from 2004 to 2010. Nilesh also has an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution, earned during the same period. Prior to that, they completed an M.S. in Computer Science from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 2002 to 2004. Dr. Modi's undergraduate degree is a B.Tech. in Information Technology from Nirma Institute of Technology, Gujarat University, where they graduated as a Gold Medalist in 2002.
