Homer Swei is a highly experienced professional in the fields of product stewardship and chemical safety, currently serving as Chief Scientist at the Fragrance Creators Association since December 2024. Swei previously held the position of Senior Vice President for Healthy Living Science at the Environmental Working Group from July 2022 to December 2024, where research on chemical ingredients and the EWG Verified certification program were advanced. Prior experience includes over 18 years at Johnson & Johnson in various leadership roles focused on governance and regulatory intelligence for consumer products, as well as positions at Dow Chemical, Union Carbide, Raychem, and ExxonMobil. Swei holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Fragrance Creators Association is the principal trade association representing the fragrance industry. The organization's member companies create and manufacture fragrances and scents for home care, personal care, home design, fine fragrance, and industrial and institutional products. Fragrance Creators also represents companies that market finished products containing fragrance as well as those that supply fragrance ingredients, including natural extracts and other raw materials that are used in perfumery and fragrance mixtures. Fragrance Creators produces Fragrance Notes, the publication of record for the fragrance industry, available in print and online at fragrancenotes.org.
