Claire A. Ramsbottom is Executive Director of Colleges of the Fenway, Inc. (COF) in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1996, she was hired to help create the newly formed COF. Formally incorporated in 2003, COF is a collaboration among five Boston institutions of higher education (Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, MCPHS, Simmons University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology) formed to enhance opportunities for students and find ways to mitigate the rising costs of higher education. She works closely with the institutions’ presidents and senior leadership in identifying and implementing opportunities to strengthen the individual institutions and the collective through collaboration.

Framingham State University was founded by Horace Mann in 1839 as the first state-supported institution of public higher education in the United States for the training of teachers. Located in Framingham, Massachusetts, a community 20 miles west of Boston, the University assists in fulfilling the workforce needs of the Commonwealth with an emphasis on the rapidly growing high technology and service region known as MetroWest.
