Francis Howell School District
Sara McClendon currently serves as an English Language Arts Teacher in the Francis Howell School District since August 2022, having previously held the same position in the Riverview Gardens School District from August 2021 to June 2022. Prior to their teaching career, Sara accumulated experience in content strategy and public relations, working as a Content Strategist Consultant for Syngenta and as a Content Strategist at Rhea + Kaiser. Sara's extensive background in public relations includes roles such as Public Relations Manager at Osborn Barr, where responsibilities included media relations for Monsanto and overseeing advocacy programs, and Food Drive Coordinator at Ozarks Food Harvest. Sara began a career in journalism as a Freelance Reporter for the Springfield News-Leader. Sara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Missouri State University.
Francis Howell School District
The Francis Howell R-III School District encompasses over 150 square miles in the southeast corner of St. Charles County and is one of the largest school districts in the State of Missouri. With an enrollment of nearly 18,000 students and approximately 2,300 employees, the Francis Howell Learning Community works every day to provide a consistent and comprehensive education that fosters high levels of academic achievement for all. The history of the Francis Howell School District dates back to 1825. Through mergers, the District became the Consolidated School District No. 2 of St. Charles County in 1915. As a result of additional mergers, the District became the Francis Howell Reorganized #3 School District in 1951. The District serves portions of the municipalities of St. Charles, St. Peters, and O’Fallon, as well as Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Weldon Spring, New Melle, and unincorporated areas of St. Charles County. The District’s educational facilities include ten elementary, five middle, and three high schools; three early childhood buildings; and two alternative education schools.
