Bassel Ericsoussi

Bassel Ericsoussi, MD, FCCP, serves as the Head of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Department at Franciscan Health since July 2012, where leadership encompasses oversight of diagnosis, treatment, and patient management in pulmonary and critical care. Additionally, Bassel Ericsoussi is the Medical Director of Critical Care for the Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Units at Franciscan Health Dyer and Munster, responsible for clinical operations and enhancing patient outcomes. Bassel Ericsoussi's expertise includes lung cancer management as part of a multidisciplinary team and the implementation of evidence-based protocols in critical care settings. Previous experience includes roles at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System as Chief Fellow and Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care, alongside residency training in Internal Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Early career highlights include research assistant positions at Massachusetts General Hospital and visiting physician roles. Bassel Ericsoussi holds an MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a Doctor of Medicine Diploma from Damascus University.
