Shontrice Slayton

Shontrice Slayton is an experienced Professional School Counselor at Francophone Charter School of Oakland since July 2021, also serving as Chief Executive Officer of Mentally Cultured since June 2019. Shontrice previously held roles as an Academic Counselor and SPED Mental Health Therapist at ASPIRE CHARTER ACADEMY, where therapeutic interventions were created to enhance mental health and improve learning environments. With a background that includes mentoring with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, teaching at Steffan Manor Elementary School, and a variety of positions at Youth Villages, Shontrice has developed effective educational strategies and maintained a commitment to supporting youth development. Shontrice holds a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master's degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling from Capella University.
