Frank P Matthews grow over one million container grown and bare root fruit and ornamental trees every year for supply into garden centres, nurseries, mail order companies and commercial growers. A family business since 1901 and now in the fourth generation, we are situated in the heart of the picturesque Teme Valley, Worcestershire and still use traditional propagation skills whilst embracing modern growing technologies. Our nursery grows the widest range of trees in the UK with over 200 different varieties of apple and many well-known and unusual fruit trees along with over 400 different varieties is ornamental trees from Acers to Zelkovas. We also supply hedging and soft fruit. For commercial growers we and have strong links with two European partner nurseries. Gräb Nursery in Germany for stone fruit and Botden & Van Willegen Nursery in Holland for suppling knip trees. We also grow many varieties for cider and standard orchards. We are involved with breeding new and exclusive varieties such as Apple Rosette® ‘Raspberry Ripple’ (available in Tesco), Apple Red Windsor® and Prunus Frilly Frock™ as well as finding and preserving rare and heritage varieties.
