Montserrat Almena-Aliste

Montserrat Almena-Aliste is an experienced R&D Manager at Franklin Foods, specializing in the development of functional and sustainable plant-based formulations. Prior to this role, Montserrat served as a Temporary Agricultural Instructor at Vermont Technical College, leading the Cheesemaking Program. Previous positions include Director of R&D for Animal Products at FoodScience Corporation, and Dairy Technologist at QUISS, providing technical services across the food industry. Montserrat has a strong background in education, having developed technical curricula for the Vermont Institute for Artisan Cheese and taught food sensory evaluation. Early career experience includes roles at STAR HILL DAIRY, Coffee Enterprises, and the University of Vermont, along with a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Food Science from INRA and the University of Santiago de Compostela.
