Lea Herkens

Lea Herkens is a PhD candidate at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen since September 2020, focusing on the relationship between the cytokine D-dopachrome tautomerase and renal fibrosis within the Nephropathology group. Previous experience includes serving as a student research assistant at DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, where work involved developing monoclonal anti-L1 antibodies against HPV types. Additionally, Lea has held research roles at Miltenyi Biotec, FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, and BBT Biotech GmbH. Education includes a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science degree, both obtained from FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences.
