John Douglas

John Douglas is a highly experienced professional in civil engineering and asset integrity, currently serving as a Managing Consultant at Frazer-Nash Consultancy since April 2024. Prior to this, John held various academic and research positions, including Senior Lecturer and Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde, where responsibilities encompassed leading research projects, teaching statistics and probability, and managing PhD students. John has also served as a Senior Expert Engineering Seismologist at BRGM, contributing to seismic hazard assessments and research on seismic risk evaluation over an eleven-year span. Additional experience includes an adjunct professorship at the University of Iceland and a Research Associate position at Imperial College London. John holds a PhD in Civil Engineering and has pursued further qualifications, including an Habilitation to supervise research in Geology/Earth Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
