Dr. Bobby White

Dr. Bobby White has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Dr. Bobby founded and served as CEO of Frayser Community Schools, a charter school network in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Bobby also worked as a Senior Fellow at the Tennessee Charter School Center. In addition, Dr. White served as Principal at Memphis-Shelby County Schools. Currently, they are working as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant at Tracey A Benson Consulting, where they focus on eliminating racial bias in education and improving student outcomes.

From 1994 to 1996, Dr. Bobby White attended Shelby State Community College, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Education.

From 1997 to 1999, they attended LeMoyne-Owen College and earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History/Political Science.

Dr. Bobby White then pursued a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006.

Dr. Bobby'seducation journey continued at The University of Memphis, where they pursued a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Urban Education and Leadership from 2013 to 2018.

In 2019, Dr. Bobby White attended The Broad Center and completed the Broad Academy of Superintendents program, focusing on education.

In 2022 and 2023, they joined The Pahara Institute as a Pahara Aspen Education Fellow.

In addition to their degrees, Dr. Bobby White has obtained several certifications, including an Education Finance Certificate from Georgetown University in March 2021. Dr. Bobby also completed the Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute with SCORE in 2021. Prior to that, they were a Flamboyan Family Engagement Fellow with the Flamboyan Foundation in 2019 and a participant in the Leaders of Color Institute with Democrats for Education Reform in the same year. In 2017, they were a Mosaic Fellow with Conexion Americas. Furthermore, they became an Urban Education Center Leadership Fellow at The University of Memphis in 2006.
