Abedin Astafa

Abedin Astafa serves as the Chief BSA/AML and Sanctions Officer at Freddie Mac since February 2023, following a significant tenure at Capital One where roles included Head of AML and KYC Risk & Advisory and Senior Director positions focused on AML and sanctions advisory. Prior experience includes leading sanctions, AML, and anti-corruption initiatives at GE Capital, and directing ethics and compliance efforts at Ingersoll Rand. Astafa has also held compliance management roles at Realogy Holdings Corp. and American Express. Abedin Astafa holds a BA in Political Science with a Business Law Minor from Pace University and has participated in ongoing education at GE Crotonville since 2014.
