Matthew D. Abrusci is executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Freddie Mac, bringing more than 30 years of legal experience across the financial services sector. Abrusci is responsible for general counsel duties and overseeing all legal and corporate secretarial matters affecting the company.

Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Abrusci held top legal positions across the financial services sector, most recently at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) Americas, where he served as the company’s general counsel for more than two years. Previously, he also served as vice president and associate general counsel for Global Capital Markets with Royal Bank of Canada. He also spent 15 years with Credit Suisse as managing director and head of Americas Investment Banking and Capital Markets legal team after spending almost 20 years at Merrill Lynch in various legal roles.

Abrusci earned a bachelor’s degree and his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University.
