Lindsay Hayes has extensive experience in various roles related to writing and communication. Lindsay currently serves as the President & CEO of Free the Facts since September 2016. Prior to this, they were the owner of Redpath Writing, providing writing and strategic communication services to clients such as political candidates, corporate executives, and charitable foundations starting from January 2008. From October 2011 to November 2012, Lindsay worked as the Director of Speechwriting for Romney for President. Lindsay also served as a Speechwriter for the Vice Presidential nominee at John McCain 2008 from September to November 2008. Lindsay worked as a Senior Writer for the 2008 Republican National Convention from June to September 2008. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Speechwriter & Communications Director for the United States Senate, Office of Senator Ted Stevens from July 2002 to November 2006. Lindsay also had a brief stint at The White House in the Office of Speechwriting from January to June 2002. In addition to their work in the political sphere, they taught various courses in argumentation, public speaking, and political speechwriting as a lecturer at the University of Maryland from September 1999 to December 2011.

Lindsay Hayes received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science & Communication from Boston College, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Lindsay went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Communication at the University of Maryland, completing their studies there from 1999 to 2001. Lindsay Hayes further pursued their education at the University of Maryland, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Communication from 2001 to 2013.
