Amy Downey

Amy Downey has extensive experience in the field of education, currently serving as the Chair of the Department of Education at Freed-Hardeman University since July 2018. In addition to this role, Amy has held interim leadership positions within the College of Education. Prior to this, Amy spent over three decades in various leadership roles within Metro Nashville Public Schools, culminating as the Executive Lead Principal for Middle Schools. Amy holds an EdD in Leadership Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University, as well as a Master of Science from Middle Tennessee State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Freed-Hardeman University.
