Mark Beckford

Mark Beckford is an experienced journalist and educator with a diverse background in multimedia journalism and digital content production. Currently serving as a Digital Editor for the Bloomberg Cities Content Unit at Freedman Consulting, LLC, since August 2021, Mark collaborates with a team focused on public-sector innovation and partners with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Previously, Mark held the position of Assistant Professor at Howard University for six years, teaching Multimedia Journalism and engaging in academic research. Additional roles include Homepage Producer at The Washington Post, Web Producer for Kaiser Health News, and various positions at The Gleaner Company, including Senior Staff Reporter and Online Content Coordinator. Mark's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
