Eric Barnes

Eric Barnes has over 23 years of work experience in various software engineering and development roles. Eric is currently working as a Lead Principal Software Engineer at Freedom Consulting Group, LLC. Prior to this, they were a Principal Software Engineer Team Lead at Marathon TS from 2021 to 2022. From 2014 to 2021, Eric worked at Jacobs as a Principal Software Engineer.

Eric has also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Data Tactics Corporation from 2013 to 2014, where they developed web-based applications using Java, Spring, and EXT JS. Additionally, they worked as a Software Developer at Invertix Corporation from 2012 to 2013 and as a Software Engineer at Harris Corporation from 2010 to 2012.

Eric's early career includes a role as a Software Developer/Configuration Manager at High Performance Technologies from 2006 to 2010. Eric Barnes graduated from Serra Catholic High School in 2002 with a diploma. Eric then attended the University of Pittsburgh from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Cum Laude degree in Computer Science and Information Science. From 2007 to 2010, Eric pursued a Software Engineering degree at George Mason University. In terms of certifications, Eric obtained the Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop CDH4 certification from Cloudera in March 2014. In February 2012, they achieved the Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance. Additionally, Eric received the Amazon Web Services Developer - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2020 and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification in August 2020.
