Barry Britnell

Director of Information Technology/Technical Lead at Freedom

Barry Britnell has been in the workforce since 1991. Barry began their career as an Admissions Officer/Software Developer at Florida College, where they developed applications and scripts for use in the Admissions Office, as well as serving as Webmaster for the college's internet web page. In 1997, they moved to CAS, Inc., where they converted Air Force hard-copy documentation into electronic Standard Global Markup Language (SGML) format and assisted in developing the Data Access Center which allowed secure communications between military installations. In 1998, they joined bd Systems, Inc., where they assisted in the development of the Payload Information Management System, used by the Payload Operations Center at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. In 2004, they moved to Lockheed Martin Information Technology as a Senior Software Developer, where they assisted in the development of a command and control application suite. In 2005, they joined Freedom Information Systems as Director of Information Technology/Technical Lead, where they managed all corporate IT-related responsibilities and associated infrastructure, as well as overseeing all software development activities. In 2012, they became the Owner of Exploring Bible Lands, LLC. Finally, in 2016, they joined Appian Media as a Host/Researcher.

Barry Britnell received their Diploma from Athens Bible School between 1977 and 1986. Barry then attended Florida College from 1986 to 1989, earning an Associates of Arts in General Studies. Finally, they attended Florida State University from 1989 to 1991, where they received a Bachelor's in Meteorology, Physics, and Mathematics.
