Tasso Lappas is a seasoned professional in the fields of metal additive manufacturing and high-performance computing, currently serving as Chief Scientific Officer at Freeform since March 2020, where the company focuses on deploying autonomous metal 3D printing factories. Previously, Tasso held the position of Chief Technology Officer at VELO3D and served in various leadership roles in animation and visual effects at Animation Lab, RavenTech, Inc., and The Walt Disney Company, among others. Tasso's academic background includes a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Caltech, complemented by a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. Throughout a distinguished career, Tasso has contributed to advancements in physical simulation, computational geometry, and software development, establishing a strong foundation in research and technology development.
