Erald Shehu

Scientific Director at Freeline Therapeutics

Erald Shehu has a diverse work experience in scientific and pre-clinical studies. Erald joined Freeline in 2018 as a Senior Scientist and later held the role of Principal Scientist, where they led various scientific and pre-clinical studies and managed a team of 4 members in assay development. In 2021, Erald became the Scientific Director at Freeline. Prior to that, they worked at The Institute of Cancer Research as a Higher Scientific Officer from 2015 to 2018. Erald also had experience at MSD as a Scientist, where they conducted vaccine research and development, including developing a unique method to produce live hybrid virus and generating a new vaccine candidate.

Erald Shehu has a diverse education history. Erald earned their Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Prostate Cancer from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) between 2010 and 2013. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc. in Molecular Medicine and Cancer Research at Brunel University London from 2008 to 2010. Erald began their undergraduate studies in 2003, graduating in 2008 with an Hon. B.Sc. in Biological Chemistry and Philosophy from the University of Toronto. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Introduction to Molecular Spectroscopy from Coursera Course Certificates in 2018.
