Darshil Asawa

Darshil Asawa is a mining engineer with extensive experience in ore control, mine planning, and operations across various organizations. Currently employed as Mining Engineer II at Freeport-McMoRan since July 2023, Darshil previously held roles as Mining Engineer I and Mine Planning Intern at Freeport-McMoRan, contributing to the Ajo project. Active in the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. as an International Member since October 2021, additional experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and various internships focused on mining operations and economic analysis. Darshil holds a Master of Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad.
