Scott Shuey

Scott Shuey, PhD, QP, possesses extensive experience in metallurgical engineering and process engineering, currently serving as Director of Process Engineering - Global GeoMetallurgy at Newmont Corporation since April 2012. Previously, Scott held various positions including Director of Process Engineering and Senior Technical Advisor for Refractory Hydrometallurgy at Newmont. Prior roles include Senior Process Engineer/Business Development at CH2M HILL, Chief Metallurgical Engineer at Freeport-McMoRan Mining Co., and PhD Research Fellow at the Colorado School of Mines, where Scott completed a PhD in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering. Additional experience encompasses technical editing at Engineering & Mining Journal and metallurgical engineering roles at Molycorp Minerals, U.S. Dept. of the Interior, and JCI Randfontein Estates Gold Mining Co. Scott holds a MS and BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Montana Technological University.
