Waleed Sunna holds the position of Lead Sustainability Systems Analyst at Freeport-McMoRan, where responsibilities include overseeing compliance with environmental regulations and managing a team in the handling of hazardous waste and recyclable materials. Waleed has progressed through various roles within the company, including Senior Environmental Scientist, Environmental Scientist II, and Environmental Scientist I, focusing on regulatory compliance, air quality management, and corporate audits of mining operations. Waleed began their career at Freeport-McMoRan as an Energy Planning Intern, preparing energy allocation plans for mining sites. Waleed earned a Master’s degree in Applied Leadership and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability from Arizona State University.
