Melissa McCormack has extensive experience in the field of counseling, currently serving as a High School Counselor and previously as an Elementary Guidance Counselor at Freeport UFSD since August 2004. Prior to this role, Melissa worked at America Works Of New York Inc from July 2001 to August 2002 as a Corporate Representative, Client Services Representative, and Retention Specialist in the Criminal Justice Department. Melissa McCormack holds a Master's degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from Hofstra University, obtained between 2002 and 2004, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from SUNY Geneseo, earned from 1996 to 2000.

Our Students’ Achievements: • Members of the Class of 2012 have been accepted into several of the finest colleges and universities in the nation, including: Princeton University, Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State University, Albright College, Northeastern University, Molloy College, Quinnipiac University, Polytechnic Institute of NYU, Hofstra University, Adelphi University, and SUNY Stony Brook, Albany and Binghamton. Freeport High School seniors Justin Millan and Emerick Martin were named Siemens Foundation Semifinalists. Seventy-three students were inducted into the National Honor Society and 68 students from Dodd Middle School were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.
