Michael McBee

Michael McBee has a diverse work experience in the field of civil engineering with a focus on water resources. Michael started their career at Freese and Nichols in 2015, where they served as a Water/Wastewater Engineer and Project Manager. In this role, they were involved in the design of large diameter water transmission pipelines, potable water pump stations, and ground storage tanks. Michael also gained experience as a Resident Representative for the construction of a pump station and ground storage tanks.

In 2018, Michael took on leadership roles at NCT Chapter AWWA, serving as the Scholarship Chair and later as the Young Professionals Chair until 2022. Michael then joined Texas AWWA as the Young Professional Chair in the same year.

Prior to their professional experience, Michael had worked as a Water Utilities EIT at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. on a project involving water infrastructure and facilities for an industrial complex in Wilmer, TX. Michael was responsible for the design and implementation of a pump station, a 0.25 MG EST, and over 3,000 LF of 12" pipe.

Michael also gained valuable experience during their time as a student at Texas A&M University, where they focused on water resources and was a member of the Civil Engineering Honor Society, Chi Epsilon. Michael conducted research in wastewater treatment during their studies.

Before their professional career and university education, Michael had interned at Freese and Nichols as a Water Transmission Engineer and at Friends in Action International as an intern/volunteer, where they participated in building a road through a jungle in a third world country. Michael was responsible for dealing with drainage, materials, and gradient, and communicated with the local community and project managers in a foreign culture.

Michael McBee attended Rockwall High School from 2005 to 2009, but no degree or field of study is specified for this period. After that, from 2009 to 2013, they studied at Texas A&M University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.

In addition to their formal education, Michael McBee has pursued various certifications. In April 2013, they obtained the E.I.T. certification from the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. Michael later achieved the ENV SP certification from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure in October 2015. Most recently, in March 2018, they obtained the P.E. certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
