Jim Meyer

Jim Meyer is a dynamic business leader with a history of creating value in industrial-focused companies. He has successfully led numerous companies through mergers, acquisitions, financial restructurings and operational turnarounds. Jim has held senior-level positions in large- and small-cap companies, in both the public and private sectors. He is also a financial sponsor in several private equity-backed companies. Leveraging his broad range of expertise, Jim drives progress, helping companies grow and realize greater success.

Currently President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of FreightCar America, Jim oversees the vision and progress of the company as it positions itself for the next 100 years.

Before joining FreightCar America in 2017, Jim was named Chairman of the Board at Commercial Specialty Truck Holdings, LLC, a commercial truck manufacturer. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer of REV Group, the largest manufacturer of specialty vehicles in North America with presence in the fire and emergency, commercial and recreation markets. Jim also held leadership positions at Brunswick Corporation, Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation. He has worked in Europe, Japan and North America.

Jim holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, an MS in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
