Stephen Ling is a Senior Design Engineer at FreightCar America, Inc. since October 2021, with a focus on finite element analysis, cyclic fatigue life, modal analysis, and design calculations for welded and bolted connections. Prior experience includes serving as a Product Design Engineer at FS-Elliott from December 2016 to October 2021, where Stephen developed new product designs for air compressor packages, and as a Design Engineer at FreightCar America from May 2013 to December 2016, engaged in structural design and new product development initiatives. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Penn State University, earned in 2013, and completed secondary education at Conemaugh Valley Jr./Sr. High School.
