Juergen Riess

Juergen Riess has extensive experience in the field of international taxes. Juergen is currently working at the Fresenius Group as the Vice President of International Taxes, where they lead a team of tax professionals to shape and establish the tax function of the future. Prior to their current role, they held positions at Lufthansa and BASF, where they were responsible for various tax-related tasks including tax restructuring, acquisitions and divestitures, transfer pricing, and international tax audits. Juergen also worked at Wintershall Dea within the BASF-Group and at Deloitte Deutschland as a Tax Consultant. Juergen started their career in the Tax Authorities where they gained experience in tax audits and appeals.

Juergen Riess has a strong education background in tax law and taxation. In 1993, they attended the Fiscal School of Rhineland-Palatinate and obtained a degree in Finanzwirt. Juergen then furthered their education at the University of Applied Science for Finance from 1997 to 2000, earning a Master's Degree in Tax Law/Taxation. In 2003, they successfully completed the Steuerberaterexamen/Tax Consultant Exam, obtaining the certification of Certified Tax Counsel (Germany). This certification was granted by the Steuerberaterkammer.
