Daniel Diez

Daniel Diez is an accomplished mining executive with extensive experience in operational leadership and project management across multiple companies in the mining sector. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer for the Northern Region at Fresnillo PLC since December 2023, Daniel previously held the position of VP and Country Manager for Gold Fields in Chile. With a solid background at Yamana Gold Inc., Daniel contributed as Senior Director of Projects and Corporate Development, Project Director for the Agua Rica Integrated Project, and Director of Planning and Business Development. Earlier roles included mining expert at McKinsey & Company and mining superintendent at Xstrata Copper. Daniel began their career in development management at Antofagasta PLC and has held various engineering and planning roles at Yamana Gold Inc., Maptek, and Teck Resources Limited. Daniel holds a Civil Engineer degree in Mining and Metallurgy from Universidad de Chile, an Executive MBA from IEDE, and a Project Management Certification from Stanford University.
