FRIDA | The Young Feminist Fund

FRIDA | The Young Feminist Fund is a youth-led feminist fund that mobilizes resources, funds and strengthens the participation and leadership of young feminist activists globally, building stronger alliances between women’s rights movements and other social movements to advance human rights and social justice agendas. Our theory of change derives from the core belief that women’s movements are strengthened when we provide young feminist activists and their organizations with the resources they need and support their capacity to mobilize resources for their work. When young women, girls, and trans*youth come together, they can create lasting change. FRIDA partners with young and emerging feminist organizations to help them make the most impact on their communities possible. The groups we support are dismantling patriarchy, addressing human rights violations, and overturning inequalities. FRIDA uses a participatory grantmaking process that puts decision-making in the hands of young feminists themselves. Through this model, we seek to change power and relationships in philanthropy. To date, FRIDA has completed five grant cycles, and cumulatively supported 150 different groups of young feminists in over 80 different countries around the world, awarding 1.3 million USD in direct grants.
