As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you have the unique and incredible opportunity to enrich the daily life of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our DSP’s provide individualized support and training to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building new skills and accessing varied social, recreation, leisure and volunteer opportunities within the community as well as activities in our state-of-the-art building. FRIENDS offers different activities and classes each day of the week that are based on the interest, goals and choices of the adults who attend the program. Direct Support Professional’s are instrumental in providing these learning opportunities and taking small groups into the community. FRIENDS’ person-centered approach ensures that people are receiving the services they need in order to gain independence and truly be part of their community.

Duties/Responsibilities
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of college preferred.
At least 1 year experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet FRIENDS driving requirements.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full work days; ability to speak or exchange information in an audible manner.
Hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Classification: Full Time/ Non-Exempt
Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience
