Annette Anderson is an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in grant writing, community outreach, and program management. Currently serving as the Volunteer, Event, and Canoe Program Manager at Friends of the Chicago River since September 2017, Annette plays a key role in organizing volunteer programs to protect the Chicago River. Previous experience includes working as an Environmental Grant Writer, helping companies secure over $500,000 in grant funding, and managing the 1 Mississippi campaign for Bluestem Communications to raise awareness about the Mississippi River. Annette also held advisory roles and directorships focused on community empowerment and sustainable energy initiatives. Annette is pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainable Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, building on a strong educational foundation that includes a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of South Florida.
