Jon Kaplan

Mr. Kaplan is an expert on value-based health care, with a keen focus on outcomes and cost. He joined the Frist Cressey Ventures team as an investor and Venture Partner in 2019. Mr. Kaplan works with the firm to advise on investment opportunities and assist portfolio companies with their strategic direction and execution. He also serves as a Managing Director and Senior Partner with the Boston Consulting Group, where he focuses on the healthcare market, setting strategies and building effective operating models for corporations and organizations in the US and across the globe.

Mr. Kaplan has a deep expertise in consumer demand, behavior and payment models. He applies this expertise and insights including an understanding of the impact of behavioral economics on consumers and market performance. He has developed specific strategies for market positioning and growing market share for leading players across the healthcare landscape. He has also built broad clinical programs to better manage outcomes and cost, especially for complex chronic patients. He is also recognized for his expertise regarding our aging society and their growing needs. For example, he testified as an expert witness before Congress on the public and private solutions for Medicare and how to best to support this critically important population.

Mr. Kaplan has been active in the community. He has been an adjunct professor for the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, serves on the Board of Quorum Health, including the audit and compensation committees, Expert Council for HealthTech 4 Medicaid and is on the Advisory Board for the Executive Chairman of Livongo. He has also served on the Boards of the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Workplace Wellness Alliance of the World Economic Forum in addition to a number of other Boards of healthcare organizations.

Mr. Kaplan an A.B. in economics from Cornell University, and M.P.H. in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of Pittsburgh, and an executive M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management
