Matt Sorenson

Retained Firefighter at FRNSW

Matt Sorenson is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Urban Services Manager at Kyogle Council since October 2016, with previous roles including Assets and Design Coordinator and Urban and Assets Engineer. Simultaneously, Matt has been a Retained Firefighter with Fire and Rescue NSW since July 2019. Prior experience includes serving as a Project Manager and Water Engineer at Arup from January 2012 to October 2016, as well as a Project Manager at Westpac Group for a brief period in 2015. Matt's early career involved roles at Engineers Without Borders as an Environmental Engineer and various positions at BHP Billiton and Leighton Contractors as a Civil Project Engineer and Student Engineer, respectively. Education includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Griffith University and attendance at EPF Engineering School. Matt actively contributed to Engineers Without Borders by organizing national conferences and council activities.
