Teresa Carey

Teresa has been with F&R since 2013 and they sometimes think that she never stops working. Ever. Hired as the Controller, Teresa was made an officer of the company in 2018 when the Board of Directors nominated her to the position of Assistant Treasurer and Corporate Secretary. Now she’s their new Chief Financial Officer. She’s just that good.

Teresa has been in the business-accounting field for more than 25 years. Prior to joining F&R she spent ten years accounting for federal and state grants at a Richmond-based non-profit that provides training and services to law enforcement. Prior to that she co-owned a custom-design and build construction franchise in Dayton, Ohio, so she totally gets what they do.

Teresa obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and received her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from VCU. In 2014, Teresa reinforced her passion for numbers by obtaining her CPA…but why stop there? She just earned her MBA from VCU in 2019.

Totally unflappable, Teresa keeps their P’s and Q’s (or 6’s and 7’s?) straight while remaining cool as a cucumber.
