Sarah de Roure has a diverse work experience in international development and advocacy. From 2022 to present, they are the Global Head of Protection at Front Line Defenders. Prior to this, they worked as the Coordinator of the Women and Territories Program at Fondo de Acción Urgente- America Latina from 2021 to 2022. From 2020 to 2022, Sarah worked as a Senior International Development Consultant, providing consultancy services to various organizations, including GIZ and Bread for the World. Sarah also held a strategic leadership position as the Program Coordinator at Christian Aid from 2014 to 2020, where they developed a regional strategy for the Amazon region. Sarah's earlier experiences include working as an Officer at Prefeitura de São Paulo, where they managed innovative programs focused on women's economic autonomy, and at SempreViva Organização Feminista, where they conducted research on women's participation in continental campaigns.
Sarah de Roure has a Master's degree in Development and International Cooperation from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, which they obtained between 2009 and 2011. Sarah also has a Bachelor's degree in History from Universidade de Brasília, completed from 2001 to 2008. Sarah further pursued their education by specializing in Globalization and Culture at FESPSP - Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Politica de São Paulo from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, they completed the Christian Aid Management Development Programme from The City & Guilds - London Institute from 2017 to 2018. Sarah is also currently enrolled in a graduate program in International/Global Studies at FESPSP - Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Politica de São Paulo.
