Daniel Nomura

Co-founder And Scientific Adviser at Frontier Medicines

Daniel Nomura has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Daniel is currently an Advisory Partner at Andreessen Horowitz since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as an Investment Advisory Board Member at Droia Ventures starting from November 2022. In 2022, they also founded Vicinitas Therapeutics and held positions as Founder, Scientific Adviser, and Board Member. In 2017, Daniel served as the Director at Novartis-Berkeley Translational Chemical Biology Institute and also co-founded Frontier Medicines, where they acted as a Co-Founder and Scientific Adviser. Furthermore, they worked as an Associate Adjunct Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, starting in March 2016. Prior to that, they held various positions at the University of California, Berkeley, including Professor of Chemical Biology and Molecular Therapeutics, Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor from 2011 to 2022. Daniel began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute starting in July 2008. Earlier, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher from August 2004 to June 2008 and as an Undergraduate Researcher from June 2000 to July 2004 at the University of California, Berkeley.

Daniel Nomura received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley in the years 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Toxicology from the same institution, from the years 2004 to 2008.
