Marcus Upton

Marcus Upton has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to 2019. Marcus started their career as an MIMS/Ellipse Consultant at AMT-Sybex, where they were involved in the roll-out of the Ellipse Maintenance module at Network Rail. Marcus also provided configuration and administration courses for customers.

Following that, Marcus worked as an Implementation Consultant at McKesson Information Solutions, providing application consultancy and support for the implementation of the NHS wide HR and Payroll system.

Marcus then took on the role of Oracle HRMS Functional Consultant at Rentokil-Initial PLC, where they developed process and procedure documentation and configured Oracle systems for the Oracle HCM project.

At Design Assured Ltd., Marcus worked as a Business Consultant on various contracts, including being a User Acceptance Testing Manager on an Agresso Business World implementation. Marcus also worked as an Ellipse & Oracle HRMS Consultant at Network Rail, where they conducted data analysis, project planning, and asset data loading into Ellipse.

Marcus then moved to Mincom, where they became a Senior HR/Payroll Consultant, responsible for implementing and supporting the Ellipse HR and Payroll modules. Marcus also worked as an HR Consultant on the implementation planning study for an upgrade at Xstrata Mt.

As an HRIS Business Analyst Contractor at PM-Partners group, Marcus provided HRIS expertise and analysis.

Most recently, Marcus joined Kronos as an Application Consultant, and their responsibilities included providing support and consultancy services. Marcus is currently working as a Business Development Consultant at Frontier Software.

Marcus Upton completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Industrial Relations and Modern History from The University of Queensland from 1991 to 1993. Following that, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) between 1994 and 1995. Later, they attended Brunel University London from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Systems Management.
