Mat Zalasiewicz

Mat Zalasiewicz is a technology leader in the space biotech industry, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Frontier Space Technologies, where innovative solutions for biotech and pharmaceutical research in space are developed. Previously, Zalasiewicz worked as a Space Software Engineer at Lúnasa Space, focusing on realistic space simulations and digital twin technologies. As Software Lead for BAMMsat on BEXUS, Zalasiewicz contributed to the development of a miniaturised laboratory payload for CubeSat missions. Earlier experience includes the role of Advanced Simulation Engineer at HSSMI, where the emphasis was on digital twin systems and manufacturing optimization. Zalasiewicz began a career with an internship in virtual engineering, applying digital technologies to automotive manufacturing. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birmingham City University.
