CEO Frontier Oil Company 1 & Director Oil Infrastructures at Frontier Works Organization, Pakistan

Shamim Akram has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Shamim began their career in 1979 as an Engineer Officer in the Pakistan Army. Shamim served in this role until 2013. During their time in the army, they also worked with the United Nations in peacekeeping missions, serving as a Chief Military Personnel Officer from 2007 to 2008.

After leaving the army, Shamim joined the United Nations again in 1996, this time as a Regional Mines Officer in Angola. Here, they were responsible for training and deploying demining teams and coordinating humanitarian demining activities.

In 2011, Shamim transitioned to the civilian sector and joined the Army Housing Directorate as a Director of Housing. Shamim worked in this role until 2013 when they joined the National Logistics Cell (NLC) as the Director of Cogen & Power.

From 2014 to 2017, Shamim worked for the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) in various roles. Shamim started as the Director of Audit and later became the Chief Operating Officer of Motorway Operations & Rehabilitation Engineering Private Ltd (MORE). In this position, they oversaw the operation and maintenance of the Lahore - Islamabad Motorway.

In 2019, Shamim was appointed as the CEO of Frontier Oil Company 1 and Director of Oil Infrastructures, further expanding their responsibilities within the FWO.

Shamim Akram completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in 1988. They also have additional certifications, including Rausing Executive Development - Directors Training from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2017, Certified Company Director from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 2017, Professional Engineer (PE) from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in 2008, and membership with THE INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS, PAKISTAN (IEP) since 1988.
