Huasheng Huang is currently an Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Principal Investigator at the School of Geography and Planning at Sun Yat-sen University since January 2024. With a robust academic background, Huang holds a PhD in Geology, specializing in Palaeontology and Stratigraphy from the University of Amsterdam, alongside a Master of Engineering in Paleobotany from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from South China Agricultural University. In addition to teaching, Huang serves in editorial capacities for various scholarly journals, including Associate Editor of Historical Biology at Taylor & Francis Group and Subject Editor for Plant Ecology and Evolution at Pensoft Publishers. Huang's previous roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Firenze, and Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics at the University of Amsterdam. The current research focus revolves around reconstructing late Neogene and Quaternary vegetation, climate, and environment in the Mediterranean using palynology techniques.
