John Fay has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. John is currently serving as the CEO of FSI Outsourcing since 2020. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the Managing Director of VITALITE Zambia Limited, a social enterprise focused on providing affordable clean household energy products and services from 2013 to 2019. John was also a Co-Founder of Shared Value Africa from 2012 to 2019. John has a background in nonprofit work as well, having co-founded The SEM Fund in 2004, which aimed to combat poverty tax. John continued to serve as the Board of Directors Chair until 2014. John holds a PhD in Sustainable Enterprise and Emergent Change from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, completed in 2013. John has worked as a Senior Consultant at Emerging Markets Group, managing international development projects and addressing climate change from 2006 to 2010. Earlier in their career, John participated in the CIGNA Healthcare Leadership Program and worked for MLL & NLL as a professional lacrosse player. John also worked as a Business Development Analyst at FBR, where they managed bank integrations and analyzed market trends from 1999 to 2002.

John Fay completed their education with the following degrees and schools:

- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Cape Town's Commerce Faculty, Graduate School of Business. John attended this program from 2010 to 2013.

- Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, where they studied from 2002 to 2004.

- Undergraduate degree from Duke University, majoring in History and minoring in Political Science. John also obtained a Markets and Management Certificate during their study from 1994 to 1998.

- John completed their high school education at Canton High School as part of the Golden Bears program from 1991 to 1994.
