Ajay Sabherwal

Ajay Sabherwal is the current Chief Financial Officer at FTI Consulting. Ajay has previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at FairPoint Communications and as Chief Financial Officer at Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. and Aventine Renewable Energy.

Ajay joined FairPoint Communications shortly after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In January 2011, following the culmination of a financial restructuring process, FairPoint Communications emerged from bankruptcy and was relisted on the NASDAQ.

Under Ajay’s leadership, FairPoint Communications completed a fundamental transformation including improved cash management and a successful debt refinancing, among other initiatives.

Ajay Sabherwal has a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Manchester, a Masters in Economics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the same school.

They are on a team with Matthew Bashalany - Managing Director, Media Relations & Communications, Brendan J. Keating - Chief Accounting Officer & Controller, Corporate Infrastructure, and David Benn - Senior Managing Director, Revenue Cycle Management. Ajay Sabherwal reports to Steven H.
