Senior Director Of Downstream Process Development at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

James Pullen serves as the Senior Director of Downstream Process Development at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies since November 2011, overseeing a department of approximately 55 scientists engaged in all aspects of downstream processing. Pullen is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Chromatography, managing technical issues for the Billingham site, as well as providing extensive project technical support and consultation. As a Technical Project Leader, Pullen leads R&D functions, ensuring the effective design and transfer of manufacturing processes and managing high-value projects for both large pharmaceutical and small biotech clients. Pullen's previous experience includes roles as a Principal Scientist in downstream processing and Research Fellow positions at the University of York and the University of Leeds. Pullen holds an MSci and PhD in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Imperial College London.
