Ashly Campbell-Platero began their work experience in 2017 as a Part-Time Hourly Teacher at the Cerritos College Child Development Center. In 2019, they joined California State University, Long Beach as a BUILD Scholar and Researcher, where they conducted research on the effects of environmental mixtures of polychlorinated biphenyls on ryanodine receptor activity. Ashly continued this role until 2021. In 2020, Ashly also worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Keck Graduate Institute, focusing on virology, pandemics, and vaccination methods. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Scientist at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, starting in March 2022.

Ashly Campbell-Platero completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from California State University, Long Beach from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Cerritos College from 2017 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Ashly also obtained several certifications, including PostgreSQL JOINs from LearnSQL.com in January 2022, Prepare Data for Exploration from Coursera in November 2021, Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions from Coursera in August 2021, Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera in July 2021, Python Data Structures from Coursera in July 2021, and Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere from Coursera in June 2021.
