Senior Scientist – Process Development at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific

Forrest Arp has extensive work experience in the scientific field. Forrest is currently a Senior Scientist in Process Development at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at NantWorks, LLC for ten years. At NantWorks, they held multiple roles, including Senior Scientist II in Medicinal Chemistry from January 2014 to April 2018, and Senior Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry from January 2010 to October 2014. During their time at NantWorks, they focused on designing, synthesizing, and developing small-molecule inhibitors for cancer treatment using various strategies and techniques. Before NantWorks, Arp worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles from September 2008 to January 2010, where they completed total syntheses of complex natural products and gained expertise in chromatography. Forrest also worked as a Graduate Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from May 2003 to July 2008, where they developed catalyst systems and synthetic approaches for enantioselective cross-coupling reactions. Arp's academic research experience began as an Undergraduate Research Associate at The University of Texas at Austin from December 2000 to May 2003.

Forrest Arp completed their education in a chronological order starting from 1999. From 1999 to 2003, they attended The University of Texas at Austin where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry. During the same period, they also obtained another Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mathematics from the same institution. Following this, they pursued further studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2008 and successfully achieved a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
