Jinlai Wei

Senior Scientist I, R&d Analytical And Data Sciences at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific

Jinlai Wei has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental sciences. Jinlai recently joined FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific as a Research Scientist in R&D Analytical. Prior to this, they worked at UC Irvine as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they conducted research on the formation of reactive oxygen species from secondary organic aerosols. Jinlai developed a comprehensive framework of radical formation using spectroscopy techniques and constructed a kinetic model that was featured in multiple publications. Jinlai also served as a Teaching Assistant in General Chemistry at UC Irvine. Before that, they held a position as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they focused on identifying metal-organic complexes in ambient aerosols. Jinlai utilized various analytical techniques and published research papers that gained recognition in the field. Additionally, Jinlai gained research experience as a Research Intern at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences in 2014 and 2015.

Jinlai Wei's education history begins in 2012, when they enrolled at Tianjin University. They pursued a Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering and completed the program in 2016. Next, Jinlai Wei attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2016 to 2018, where they obtained a Master's degree in the same field of study, specifically in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering. Following this, they furthered their education at UC Irvine, starting in 2018 and completing their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry and Health Impacts in 2022.
